The House of Guru Nanak Dev Ji overflows with enchantment, equilibrium, ecstasy and equality. This slideshow highlights one of the key messages of the first Sikh Guru: equality amongst the genders. Guru Nanak Dev Ji gives recognition to, and pays homage towards the creative power of the Woman. For it is only in the House of Guru Nanak Dev Ji that each female is given the name Kaur (Princess). The concept of absolute equality between men and women extends to every element of Sikhi. A Woman has an equal right to wear the crown bestowed by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Sikh Student invites you to catch a glimpse of one of the most inspirational events held at the annual Sikh Student Camp: the Dastaar Tying Day. For many of the campers, this was the first time they had the opportunity to wear the crown of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. We hope this video inspires all the daughters and sons of the Panth to keep their hair and wear a Dastaar, and truly shine like the beacons of divine light that they are Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
